Position Title : Health Roster – Doctors, Clinical Officers, Nurses and Public Health Experts**

Context:
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is one of the major humanitarian as well as developmental actors in Somalia. IOM is currently implementing primary healthcare projects across all major regions and major migration points in the country, and is expanding its programme. In this context, IOM is developing a health roster recruiting doctors, clinical officers, nurses and public health experts. Experts will be interviewed and if they meet requirements, will be placed on an IOM Health Somalia roster, for potential quick deployment as needed based on emergency needs in Somalia.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Doctors/Clinical Officers/Nurses
Examine, diagnose, and treat patients appropriately, including provision of immediate emergency treatment when needed at the IOM health facilities.
Refer life-threatening cases and other patients requiring specialized care, explain care management plan to patients and families, inviting questions and feedback.
Provide travel health services to returnees, migrants and mobile population under the auspices of IOM
Monitor supplies and drugs levels and ensure that request for replenishment is done well in advance to avoid stock outs.
Supervise seconded and partner health staff and ensure that monthly attendance sheets are submitted in time
Assist in advising the team on strategies to be put in place that will facilitate result based implementation of programme activities and to ensure adherence to work plan activities and timelines
Collate relevant data, analyse and generate and submit reports as required
Represent IOM in health, nutrition and other cluster related meetings
Assist to develop strong partnerships with the key stakeholders including the government, communities, donors, United Nations (UN) , non-governmental organizations (NGOs);
Undertake duty travel when required
Conduct additional tasks that may be assigned by the Health Programme Coordinator.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
· Clinical positions: University degree in medicine or nursing from an accredited institution
· Public health positions: University degree in public health
· High level of computer literacy (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience
· A minimum of three years of experience in Somalia
· Experience in working with the Ministry of Health, an asset
· Experience in working in international organizations, an asset
Languages
· Fluency in English and Somali is required
· Arabic is advantageous.
