Somali Relief and Development Action (SRDA) is a vibrant growing national organization that is committed to helping disasters and conflict affected communities to prepare, recover and adopt crisis situation. Our programs are design to respond to the need to the communities when they need most. Led by experience and committed staff, our programs cover wide range of sectors that include Emergency Response, WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods, Protection and Governance. With Programs in Somaliland, Punt land and South Central Somalia, our approach to is to design durable, sustainable and long lasting solution to problems affecting the communities we works with.
With funding from the United Nations Children Agency (UNICEF), SRDA is responding to the current drought in Somalia by implementing a 2 year’s Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) in Luuq district of Gedo region. The project is providing basic health and nutrition support to children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women from Luuq district through fixed and mobile OTP units who will be administrating severe and moderate malnutrition
Position Summary
Under the close supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Qualified Nurse (QN) will be responsible for the hygiene and sanitation of both the fixed and mobile OTP and TSFP sites of the project. She/he will be Effectively follow the protocols for the management of both MAM and SAM cases with or without complications, and ensure that all protocols are understood and appropriate referrals take place.

Main Responsibilities
o Prepare plan of action for effective OTP/TSFP implementation in consultation with Senior Nutritionist
o Provide key health and nutrition messages to mothers/caretakers based on the protocols and guidelines.
o Problem solving and decision making applying technical and professional experience
o Report directly to the Senior Nutritionist to ensure that all problems are conveyed in a timely manner.
o Exercise ethics, keeping privacy and confidential information protected
o Ensure safe storage of therapeutic food and routine medications and accurate records of the stock related to the program
o Monitor the effectiveness of OTP and TSFP and submit report weekly/monthly to the Senior Nutritionist
o Collaborate with other teams in sharing information and ideas about the implementation of the project
o Generate ideas to strengthen the development of the nutrition unit.
o Supervise EPI team and activities
o Monitor the expiry date of the RUFT and medicine during the project timeframe and report to the Senior Nutritionist
o Keep record and track all nutrition related stocks working with the Logistics team
o Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Experience and Requirements:
o Diploma or degree of bachelor of nursing desirable or equivalent field
o At least three years in experience in working a busy health centers or a hospital
o Ready to work in difficult environmental Conditions
o Sensitive to different cultural and has a good interpersonal skills
o Ability to work with displaced communities with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
o willingness to travel and work in areas where the project is implemented
o Demonstrated experience and skills in ensuring community participation and gender issues in humanitarian programming
o Prepare detailed implementation plan and share with all project staff
o Ensure implementation planned activities upon expected quality and schedule at all levels.
o Follow up of project implementation through regular update
o Represent SRDA in any meeting and forums organized at project site when needed.
o Demonstrated knowledge of UNICEF programming and experience managing nutrition and health programs compliant with donor such as USAID, DFID, ECHO, EC regulations will be an asset;
o Proven program leadership, management, project planning, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and security management skills;
o Previous working experience in the chronic/forgotten crisis environment desirable;
