1.Management of material and anesthesia medicines
- Assess, prepare and follow up the patient pre/ intra/ post surgical procedure according to standard protocol.
- Follow standard protocol for pre/intra/post surgical medication (anesthesia, antibiotic, pain management, IV fluid etc.).
- Checking the correct functioning of the operating theatre before all operations (oxygen level, presence of emergency material, intubation equipment, etc.)
- Ensuring the tidying, cleaning and re-stocking of the anesthetist station between each patient
- Supervising the hygiene and correct working order of anesthesia material: decontamination, sterilization, storage conditions, etc.
- Drawing up pharmacy orders according to needs
- Updating the follow up register and traceability of tranquilizers with the nurse operating theatre manager
2.Pre-anesthesia preparation
- Familiarizing with the operating programme and adapting to any emergencies
- Checking patients’ identities, operating indications and the presence of complete dossiers
- Preparing drugs and anesthesia material according to the protocol chosen
- Helping with the installation of patients on the operating table
- Installing material for tracking medical parameters
- Informing the anesthetics doctor and surgeon of all anomalies in a patients’ states
- Watching over the availability of blood (of the right type), depending on the operation
3.Carrying out anesthesia and surveillance during an operation
- Carry out the anesthesia following the standard protocols and following hygiene and asepsis rules
- Alerting the doctor in the case of any problems
4.When the patient wakes up
- Watching over the patient waking up on the table or in the recovery room
- Participating in the installation of the patient in the recovery room
- Carrying out an oral and written handover to the recovery room nurse and handing him/her the anesthesia dossier
- Helping the recovery room nurse in the case of any problems
Additional Tasks:
- Filling in the anesthesia register (identity, type of operation, names of surgeons and anesthetists) and the statistics sheet (in collaboration with the doctor)
- Intervening in support of the emergency department if needed
- Respecting the deontology and confidentiality linked to his function and the rules of the association
- Participating in personnel meetings
- Be flexible and be able to give assistance with different activities not included in this primary job description.

- 2-3 years in similar position
