Finn Church Aid (FCA) is Finland’s largest organisation for development cooperation and second largest provider of humanitarian assistance. FCA is a founding member of the international aid alliance of churches, ACT Alliance. We seek positive change by supporting the most vulnerable people in fragile contexts. We specialize in supporting local communities’ right to peace, livelihoods and quality education.
FCA has been working in Somalia since 2008 supporting local peace efforts, building local governance and providing humanitarian aid. The main donors for FCA’s Somalia programme are European Union, the Government of Finland and UN.
This is an opportunity for a committed and experienced manager interested in to manage and develop rehabilitation project for convicted prisoners in Somalia. Project Manager is based in Baidoa and she/he is responsible for the management, development, coordination and representation of FCA in UN Multi-Party Trust Fund (UN MPTF) funded Rehabilitation project for convicted prisoners (Phase II).
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the overall project management, including planning, budgeting, implementing, developing, monitoring and reporting (internal and external)
- Ensure the technical and financial quality of the project and compliance with FCA and donor guidelines
- Oversee the monitoring activities together with M&E team
- Participate actively and engage in coordination meetings relevant to the program
- Liaise with donors’ representatives, local and federal authorities and other project stakeholders
- Provide skills, guidance, and knowledge to the project staff
- Capacity building of partner organisations and institutions
Competence and Personal Requirements:
- Strong project management skills
- Relevant experience in fragile context in management level
- Strong knowledge of criminal justice and rehabilitation
- Good knowledge of Somalia
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Fluent English (oral and written)
- University degree on development studies, international relations, or similar field
The fixed-term contract for this position will be made until 31st January 2019, contract is subject to agreement signature with the donor. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience. Monthly salary includes adverse working conditions allowance.
