OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Our client is a major humanitarian as well as developmental actors in Somalia. It is currently implementing a range of projects including WASH, primary health care, gender-based violence prevention, supply hub management, cold chain management, and shelter projects and is expected to expand its programme.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Role objective:
Our client requires services of a qualified Preparedness and Response Division (PRD) Field Coordinator to represent them at strategic project locations across Somalia as well as provide administrative oversight to technical PRD staff from the Health, WASH, Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), and Shelter/NFI units the key stakeholders in including government, communities, donors, the clusters, United Nations (UN), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders and partners;
Expected output:
Represent IOM sub-offices where there is no Head of Sub-Office (HoSo) in coordination with the PRD Coordinator, Chief of Mission and Senior Management Team (SMT).
Provide programmatic and administrative support to all IOM programme under the guidance of the PRD Coordinator.
Provide substantial inputs and recommendations for IOM Somalia’s strategies in the respective field locations.
Develop strong partnerships with the key stakeholders in including government, communities, donors, the clusters, United Nations (UN), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders and partners;
Oversee all PRD operations in including health, nutrition, WASH, shelter, CCCM and supply hub and cold chain management (where applicable),
Monitor and track the implementation progress of PRD projects;
Represent PRD in meetings;
Provide regular updates on PRD projects to the PRD Coordinator;
Identify project development opportunities
Provide inputs to the various strategic documents including thematic strategies for Health and WASH;
Provide programmatic and administrative guidance and support to other field offices as relevant
Undertake duty travel when required;
Conduct additional tasks that may be assigned by the PRD Programme Coordinator
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Under the direct supervision of the Preparedness and Response Division Coordinator,

This position does not require team management skills
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
§ Bachelor's degree in university degree in WASH, public health, developmental studies, or Diploma and/or Diploma or Certificate in the related field..
Work experience:
§ Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable relevant Health & Safety experience and/or minimum of 4 years of demonstrable relevant Cleaning & Sanitation experience.
Geographical experience:
§ Minimum of 4 years of experience in Africa with local experience in Dollow, Somalia is an advantage.
Languages:
§ Fluency in English (essential) and Somali ().
