We are currently recruiting for a vibrant candidate to fill the post of a Finance Officer to provide financial accounting and management support across all our projects of the organization.
Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Responsibilities
· Coordinating preparation of budgetary planning and processes;
· Ensuring compliance with the organization’s financial regulations;
· Preparing financial reports, including annual budget execution reports, quarterly financial statements for programme and operational budgets;
· Monitoring and controlling expenditure within the approved budget;
· Providing strategic advice and guidance on all issues of financial management;
· Assists with preparation and monitoring of annual comprehensive budgets and all financial reports for Board/Management.
· Implements financial policies and procedures;
· Participates in the development of budget proposals.
· Assists in the financial audits, if and when required.
· Maintains appropriate filing of financial records, and ensures proper backup of all files.
· Provides advice and recommendations on financial procedures and practices, as required.
· Prepares all bank deposits;
· Performs all bank account reconciliations on a monthly basis and when needed,
· Communicates with the bank to understand and reconcile any discrepancies;
· Prepares requests for cash and ensures all disbursements have appropriate supporting
· Documents.
· Reconciles cash advances for specific activities once completed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Degree in a business related field with a CPA qualification or equivalent.
· At least 2 years' experience working in Somalia.
· Fluency in oral and written English and Somali is required.
· Proven numeracy and financial analysis / planning skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers.
· High degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and financial systems.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Experience of establishing good working relationships with a variety of people.
· Proven track record in delivering results in a pressurized environment.
· High levels of professionalism, innovation, energy, creativity and flexibility.
· Culturally sensitive and ability to adapt easily.
