The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. The ICRC's Somalia Delegation in Nairobi implements the institution's humanitarian activities in Somalia.

ADMINISTRATOR – MOGADISHU

The Administrator (Somalia-based Resident/National position) will be responsible for supervising the financial accounting, providing human resources support and premises management for the Banadir Sub-delegation and he/she will also assists with financial issues concerning the Somalia Red Crescent Society. S/he will perform the following duties:

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensures that administrative files are executed in respect of given procedures and deadlines;

· Follows up on expenses related to the administrative department;

· Supervises premises management within the sub delegation;

· Responsible for the administrative stock and ensures storage and dispatch of material is performed according to given log procedures;

· Participates in negotiations of lease contracts;

· Handles all administrative correspondence and filing of administrative docs;

· Assesses and proposes alternative solutions to improve existing structure;

· Supports the Human Resources function in recruitment, appraisal process, salary management, absences management, conflict management and exit process of sub-delegation staff;

· Ensures the delegation staff are informed on administrative policies, and HR policies and guidelines;

· Supports the Somalia Red Crescent Society (SRCS) in all administration related issues;

· Maintains contact with external interlocutors;

· Supervises, coaches and evaluates staff working in the department.

Minimum Requirements:

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, HR, Administration or similar fields;

· 6 years’ experience in a similar field of activity;

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluent knowledge of spoken and written English & Somali;

· Computer literate with very good knowledge of MS Office Suite;

· Management skills;

· Very good analytical and negotiation skills;

· Detail-oriented, methodical, highly organised in their work, and practices strict adherence to timelines;

· Possessing a strong degree of honesty and integrity, and a solid sense of ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information;

· Very good knowledge of political, social and cultural assigned environment.
